2026-27 School Year Advocacy in Progress

The Latest from Lake Oswego Parents for Responsible Technology

Community meeting: Monday, April 6 from 5-7 p.m. at Ava Roasteria in Lake Oswego

You are not alone! Thank you for expressing interest in our efforts. It is encouraging to see so many families committed to ensuring our schools use technology in a way that prioritizes student well-being and high-quality learning.

PROGRESS IS UNDERWAY
  • A group of 65 volunteers have expressed interest in laying the groundwork for our advocacy. Our primary goal is to influence LOSD practices starting in the 2026-27 school year.

  • Superintendent Jennifer Schiele has announced that starting next fall, elementary students will keep school-issued devices on campus, meaning homework will no longer require district computers at home.

❋ We need your collaborative energy

Connection is a core part of the process. Join us! Help shape this community effort that could have a real impact on students right away.

❋ Your neighbors are here!

Connect with other LO parents who are considering these same issues. Let’s turn conversation into action!

❋ A Supportive Space

This is our opportunity to set the direction. There is no existing agenda at this point! Contact us so we can hear from you about what matters most to LO families. This is a parent-led effort to influence policy for the 2026-27 school year.
